|A JOURNEY OF TRADITION
Nikko Bali Resort and Spa re-introduced traditional Balinese life to its guests through the unique "Desa Bali"
Continuing its mission to preserve local traditions, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa recently launched a new program named "Desa Bali" (Balinese Village).
Previously Nikko Bali Resort and Spa organized a similar program albeit smaller but with the high number of participating guests, the resort has decided to take the program another STEP UP. Desa Bali features simple bamboo huts with traditional roofs made of coconut leaves, creating that traditional feeling; each hut offers interactive programs for the guests.
Dressed in traditional Balinese attire, each associate attended the guests by explaining the traditional life of Bali presented in each hut. Guests can learn about offerings, what it means for the people of Bali and how to do the mejejaitan (folding coconut leafs to make the offering base). Another hut features a traditional Paon Bali or Balinese traditional kitchen, with fire wood stove, traditional cooking utensils and a live cooking lesson while in the small garden within the compound, guests can learn to move graciously with a Balinese dance lesson or how to create the harmonious sound of the gamelan.
The first Desa Bali was launched on Thursday, October 6th and will be held every first and third week of each month. This will be Nikko Bali Resort and Spa's cultural program along with other weekly dance performance during theme buffets and the resort’s annual Cultural Appreciation Nights that was held last July and August.
