Nikko Bali Resort and Spa pampered a team of Jakarta journalists for a day

media gathering jakarta

Continuing the pampering for our media partners, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa went to Jakarta to hold another similar event for their partners based in the capital city of Indonesia. On Thursday, July 29th, more than 30 media representatives, chief editors and journalists were invited for a mini lunch gathering at one of the trendiest places in Jakarta, Social House at the Harvey Nichols, Grand Indonesia.

These journalists were warmly welcomed by the Public Relations and the Jakarta Sales Office for Nikko Bali Resort and Spa and escorted to a private section specially reserved for them. A gift bag containing exclusive merchandise awaited them at the table along delicious specially prepared hors d'oeuvres. A small presentation introduced the New Harmony at Nikko Bali Resort and Spa.

The three-course lunch then continued with warm conversations over new upgrades, updates and promotions at Nikko Bali Resort and Spa as well as trendy issues happening in Jakarta and Bali. The cherry on the cake of the event was a lucky draw for stay vouchers as well as spa vouchers to give that extra touch for an afternoon to be remembered.

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa released the first hatchlings from the two sea turtle nests found on the beach

Turtle Release

Nusa Dua, July 22nd, 2010 - Sea turtles are one of the world's most bizarre creatures; they have the unique instinct to lay their eggs on the same beach where they hatched. Hunted for their meat, shells and, unfortunately, their eggs as well (considered delicacies for some), this species' population is quickly dwindling and facing extinction. With a very slim chance of surviving (0.01% from one nest) in the wild, world organizations and environmentalists have been taking actions to protect known nests to help increase sea turtle population around the world.

Located on the shore of the Indian Ocean, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has been very lucky to be able to take part in helping this creature by protecting nests over the years. Recently the associates of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa found two nests just on the beach of The Shore Restaurant and Bar. Immediate actions were taken including erecting protective fences around the perimeter of the nests.

On Sunday, July 18th, the resort welcomed the birth of sea turtles from one of the nests, due to the recent bad weather some of the eggs unfortunately didn't hatch. On Thursday, July 22nd, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa invited their guests, a group of journalists, the local fishermen's organization and local community representatives to help these little creatures start their new life. With the supervision from BKSDA (Badan Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam / Natural Resources Conservation) of Badung area, 56 turtles of the Lepidochelys Olivacea or known as the Olive Ridley Turtle were recorded and released at the beach of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa. Smiles and some tears sent these turtles to the Indian Ocean as hopes and prayers went along with them so someday, somehow, they will be able to find their way back to the same beach and continue the cycle of life.

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa now still takes care of one more nest that is expected to hatch within the first weeks of August. This will be the sixth time that the resort had been blessed to have the turtles lay their eggs on the beach and previously Nikko Bali Resort and Spa had also done seven turtle release programs as one of the effort to support the environment.

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa treated their media friends to a pampering day

Media Gathering nikko bali

Imagine another ordinary day that changed in an instant to be a hectic one when the "D" word comes around the corner. Deadlines...

We guess there is no one that understands deadlines more than our friends in the media. That word will refer to overtime, stress, skipping dinner and ending up super exhausted. To honor their dedication to be the 'messengers' of what's hot and what's in, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa recently held a day of pampering for its media partners in Bali. Collaborating with Mandara Spa, the media representatives were treated to a pampering day.

The "Mind, Body and Soul" day, held on Friday, July 9th, began with a short demonstration by Mandara Spa, introducing one of their signature treatments called Mandara Massage, where two therapists attend you giving you a full relaxing body massage. The honorary guests were then invited to experience another relaxing treatment at the cozy spa villas, where they can finally relax, unwind and rejuvenate.

As the sun slowly hid behind the cliff and the Indian Ocean whispered its relaxing cool breeze, a pre-dinner cocktail awaited them by the beach. Warm conversations accompanied with fresh healthy concoctions helped to create a relaxed ambiance, putting these special guests at ease, ready for another pampering.

At the end of the cocktail, Chris Patzold, the resort's newly appointed Executive Chef, came to introduce himself and invited the kings and queens of the day to enter the dining area as dinner was about to start.

The private intimate garden of Mandara Spa was transformed into this beautiful dining venue, featuring a 'newspaper' placemats with matching napkin rings, special touches that made it feel more special. A four-course dinner featuring premium ingredients in the hands of Chris Patzold really became the highlight of the night where the mix of taste, texture and flavor created a beautiful culinary harmony.

This was truly a day dedicated to deserving people, the ones that have supported Nikko Bali Resort and Spa. This is for our media friends.
