Nikko Bali Resort and Spa Pledged to Go Green for The Earth

The resort takes action to play its role in saving the earth
Nusa Dua, April 2010 - Responding to the issue of global warming, threats against the environment and other world preservation issues, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has pledged itself to “go green” for the earth by minimizing waste, preserving energy and other related actions.
Nikko Bali began the campaign of saving the environment a couple of years ago. Guests are advised to minimize the change of linens and towels during their stay, installation of an auto switch that switches off the air conditioning system in the room whenever the balcony door is open, even informing the children at the resort’s Jungle Camp of how important it is to save the environment – from simple gesture of throwing rubbish in the bin to what they can do at home and school. Aside from these actions, the resort conducts weekly cleaning campaigns in the Sawangan area, from the beach to the streets, working together with a locally based environmental foundation.
Recently, with the assistance of an international consultant company, TÜVRheinland® (www.tuv.com), the resort has undergone an evaluation to list all existing actions already in place and identify problem points to determine further actions. Nikko Bali Resort and Spa pledged to achieve the international standard of Green Hotel and meet the standard of environmentally friendly hospitality industry in Bali and the world. Another green STEP UP taken by the resort for a better future. |
