NIKKO BALI RESORT AND SPA INCREASES SECURITY AND SAFETY MEASURES
Friday, July 17, 2009 has made another mark in Indonesian history with the tragic bombing incident that hit two luxurious hotels in mid-town Jakarta at approximately 07.45 am. The incident was the second that targeted JW Marriott and the first unfortunate incident to occur at the Ritz Carlton Jakarta. It has been nearly three years since the last similar unfortunate incident that hit this country.
After the incident, the Bali government immediately issued a release ensuring that the island is safe and the local police force has been assigned to increase the security measures to prevent any possible threats to the island. Bali Hotels Association, through its members, guarantees that maximum security will be applied immediately for the safety of all guests, staff and surrounding community.
Nikko Bali Resort and Spa, in regards to this matter, has assigned its current and former security team along with the additional help from the Bali police force to patrol the resort area around the clock. With the assignment of security officers at all main areas, especially the main entrance and the staff entrance as well as any possible access from and to the beach area, the management ensures all guests that Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has taken the maximum security measures in response to the bombing incident. Along with these actions, guests can rest assured that the resort has a 24-hour surveillance system, allowing the security team to monitor all areas of the resort.
Thanks to the location of the resort, the beach contour and accessibility, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa has a great advantage in safety and security, especially with the assistance of the Bali government through its police force. |

JOURNALISTS CAN COOK 2: GOING JAPAN AT NIKKO BALI RESORT AND SPA

On Thursday, July 16, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa once again challenged nine journalists to drop their pen and pick up the pans as the second session of “Journalists Can Cook” was held at the resort’s new Benkay Japanese Restaurant. After prepping up with specially designed aprons for the event, the journalists were taken to the kitchen to do the preparation of the day’s menu, Teppanyaki. More…
Divided into two groups, they learned to cut vegetables, meat and fish, Teppanyaki style, under the guidance of Masayasu Haruyama, the Japanese chef of the restaurant. At the Teppanyaki counter, chef Haruyama showed them the trick of cooking Teppanyaki. Regardless of the smoke and heat, all nine seemed to enjoy the day as they grilled all the ingredients and prepared Japanese style fried rice for lunch.
The day ended with a group lunch around the Teppanyaki counter with their own creations of wagyu beef steak, salmon fillet, grilled vegetables and fried rice along with other authentic Japanese dishes made by chef Haruyama. This second session has indeed proven that “Journalists Can Cook”, another STEP UP made by the journalists with Nikko Bali Resort and Spa. |
