Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Made Sudana as the Assistant Director of Sales.

Obtaining his degree from Dhyana Pura in 1992, Mr. Sudana has been in the international hospitality arena for more than 15 years. He joined Nikko Bali Resort & Spa since 15 April 1996, where he was appointed as Reservation Staff then promoted to Reservation Manager. His diligence and innovative approach made him the resort’s Market Analyst. His hard work and dedication finally made him as the Sales Manager.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Sudana was the Senior Sales Manager at the same property. With his expertise and extensive experience, he will be a valuable contribution to the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa bringing the resort another STEP UP.


Welcoming the Year of the Ox, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa celebrated Chinese New Year 2560 with buffet dinner at Tao Li, Chinese Restaurant on Monday, 26 January 2009. Although originally a Chinese celebration, the festive event was also attended by guests from other countries.

Opening the celebration guests were entertained by the stunning performance of Chinese lion dance or Barong Sai at the pool area and lobby which symbolized the exorcism of evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune for the upcoming year. As the dance continued to the lively decorated Tao Li Restaurant, guests were welcomed by a spread of exquisite flavors from mainland Chinese prepared by the skillful hands of the resort’s chef. At around 11pm the festivities ended with exchanges of joyful and longevity wishes among the celebrants.

The year of the Ox is expected to bring prosperity through fortitude and hard work. Nikko Bali Resort & Spa wishes a prosperous year and many fortunes return.


Nikko Bali Resort & Spa recently organized a beach cleaning program on Friday, 23 January 2009. Involving around 50 people of the resort’s employees and local fisherman organization - Kelompok Nelayan Sari Merta Segara, they worked hand in hand gathering and recycling large amount of wastes from plastics, cans, bottles to sandals along the 500 m shoreline of Sawangan Beach by the resort.

This event is scheduled to be a regular activity that would take place every Friday as a way for Nikko Bali Resort & Spa to give back to the community as well as promoting the awareness of a clean environment to the local community. Another STEP UP act for Nikko Bali Resort & Spa towards an eco friendly tourism.


In conjunction to the Russian Orthodox Christmas celebration, on Sunday, 6 th January 2008, Nikko Bali Resort & Spa presented the ‘Beach Party’. This special dinner was held at its secluded white sandy beach in an exotic atmosphere where one hundred distinguished guests enjoyed an astonishing Russian cuisine and mouthwatering seafood barbeque.

The evening lasted lay into the late evening, with spectacular sexy fire dancers, cabaret show and our resident band performance.


Taiwan Consul for Jakarta, Mr. Timothy Yang and wife visits Nikko Bali Resort & Spa on Tuesday, December 30, 2008.Their purpose of visit was to attend the wedding of their relatives, held at Wiwaha wedding venue.

On the eve of December 31, 2008, Nikko Bali Resort & Spa presented a blasting New Year’s Eve celebration at their resort with various entertainments and luscious spread at Graha Sawangan Ballroom, Benkay Japanese Restaurant, The Shore Restaurant & Bar and Brasserie des Celebrites.

Colorful decorations and a massive stage with a giant carnival mask adorned the Graha Sawangan Ballroom as the resort’s Food & Beverage team displayed their outstanding talents with varieties of world class cuisine from the Asian woks, Barbeque grills and French pastries with homemade cakes, pralines and flambé. Fresh air-flown seafood displayed on carved ice blocks including succulent Indian Ocean lobsters, oysters, salmon and more.

Selected professional singers, musicians and dancers of more than 100 performers presented colossal cultural performances of Indonesia, the rest of Asia, America and Europe. All time hits moved the guests to the dance floor, dancing the night away with laughter and smile across their face as they countdown every second towards 2009.

In an open area between Brasserie and Oo Loo Loos Entertainment Center, guests were wowed by the talented hands of fire dancers as they swing burning batons and ropes with beautifully choreographed routine, to top it off, a stilt-walker with an extravagant costume went around the crowd teasing them, cheering them up to midnight. Spread of traditional New Year’s Eve menu welcomed the guests to a scrumptious dinner at Brasserie, while Benkay served what it does best at presenting authentic Japanese feast for those who loves the exotic cuisine of Asia as live feed of New Year celebration in Japan was featured with a big screen just in front of the restaurant.

Down by the beach, The Shore Restaurant & Bar presented intimate setting for those who prefer to celebrate the evening in a more warm setting as the chef prepared a special menu for them. Along with the everlasting serene sound of the waves, a DJ performance filled the whole night with easy tunes and lounge music.

As the clock strikes twelve, cheers of celebration and excitement roared through the air inside Oo Loo Loos Entertainment Center at ‘The Encore’ party entertained once again by the fire dancers and the beat of music by a DJ’s performance.

It was indeed a night of ‘Carnival’ with never-ending fun and excitement that ended the year 2008 with a blast and begins the year of 2009 with a smile. A true STEP UP for the New Year.


Chinese New Year is well known as Imlek in Indonesia. This year the celebration is on 26 th January 2009. It is an incorporate customs, beliefs and practices brought to Indonesia by Chinese immigrants who still follow the practices handed down from their parents. Red color, gold coins or money, cherry blossom, home paper decorations are the object which represents good luck and fortune. All the bright happy colors are the distinctive of this festive that believe will bring a bright future. Exchange the gift during the holiday season also becomes the obligated thing. For entertainment, Chinese dragon dance is one of the popular shows that symbolized future life prosperity. ‘May you enjoy continuous good health' or 'May the Star of Wealth, Star of Longevity, and Star of Happiness shine upon you' are some wishes expressed among the celebrator.

2009 is The Year of Ox in Chinese Astrology

In Chinese astrology there are twelve animal signs which represent twelve different types of personality. The zodiac traditionally begins with the sign of the Rat, and there are many stories about the Chinese Zodiac. The following are the twelve zodiac signs in order and their characteristics:
