3rd NIKKO BALI BEAUTY FAIR SPECIAL WEDDING, 28 – 29 APRIL 2007
Nikko Bali Resort & Spa has organized the 3rd Nikko Bali Beauty Fair Special Wedding which held from 28th to 29th April 2007 in the Graha Sawangan Ballroom.
This interestingtwo-day beauty event is an annual program of Nikko Bali Resort & Spa in conjunction with country’s Kartini Day and is dedicated to a young lady of Javanese nobility who pioneered the emancipation of women in Indonesia and encouraged education during the late 1800’s.
The fair featured exhibitions by leading suppliers of bridal accessories, floral products, photography, fashion, cosmetics as well as trendy lifestyle literature. In addition, there will be contests for hand-made wedding bouquet and wedding cake decorations. Refreshment stands will sell tasty light snacks and carefully selected beverages.
The fair will be officially opened with a fashion show of ladies apparels and wedding gowns. There will be many valuable activities especially for women, work shops and demonstrations for making wedding gowns.
he 3 rd Nikko Bali Beauty Fair will be open to the general public from 10.00 a.m. onwards during the fair dates. Every body is welcome. There will be attractive door prizes for visitors, complimentary Ocean View Room vouchers at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa and scholarship programs from John Robert Power for Basic Personality Development.

BIWA – Charity Tennis Tournament 2007 at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa
Bali International Women’s Association (BIWA) in collaboration with Bali Tennis Academy (BTA) successfully conducted its Charity Tennis Tournament 2007 at the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa tennis courts from 24 March – 01 April 2007. The event raised funds for scholarships of underprivileged children as well as, promotion of women’s health and education in Bali.
On its opening day a courtside cocktail party was held for the participants and invitees on Saturday, 24 th March 2007 from 05:00pm onwards. Guests were treated with attractive aerobics show as well as auction and lucky draw.
This charity tournament, divided into 13 categories, was open to amateur players, men and women, with ages ranging from 9 to 50 years old. The winners and runner-ups were presented with BTA trophies, vouchers and souvenirs from sponsors.

SISWO SUSETYO, New Rooms Division Manager at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa
Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is very pleased to announce the appointment in April 2007 of Mr. Siswo Susetyo as Rooms Division Manager.
Siswo, 39, is proud father of a son and daughter. He is a physical fitness enthusiast, does regular jogging and engages in lawn and table tennis. After his graduation from Bali Hotel Tourism Institute (STP Nusa Dua, Bali), he ventured into the hotel industry where his career spanned for almost seventeen (17) years. Siswo started his posting as Front Office Manager in Bali Hilton International, now Ayodya Resort Bali. He subsequently moved to Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel where he occupied his last post of Front Office Manager until recently he was Director of Rooms in Hard Rock Hotel Bali.
With his extensive experience and expertise in Front Office operations, he will be a valuable team player to Nikko Bali Resort & Spa. |

I NENGAH WIDIASA, New Front Desk & Administration Manager at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa
Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. I Nengah Widiasa as Front Desk & Administration Manager effective April 2007.
After his graduation from Bali Hotel Tourism Institute (STP Nusa Dua-Bali), he worked in the hotel industry for almost sixteen (16) years. Widiasa started his professional career as Telephone Operator in Bali Hilton International, now Ayodya Resort Bali and was eventually promoted to the post of Revenue Manager. Before joining Nikko, he was Reservations Manager in Conrad Bali Resort & Spa.
With his extensive experience and expertise in Front Office operations, he will be a valuable team player in his new organization. |

DIDI MULYADI, New Manager on Duty at Nikko Bali Resort & Spa
Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. I Gusti Putu Didi Mulyadi as Manager on Duty at Front Office Department effective March 2007.
After graduating from the Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Nusa Dua, Bali major in Hotel Administration, Didi started his professional career at Bali Padma Hotel as receptionist.
Later in August 2004 he joined Hard Rock Hotel Bali as Front Office receptionist then climbed his way up as Front Office Crew Leader and Assistant Manager in December 2006 before joining Nikko Bali Resort & Spa.
With his exposure in hotel service operations and experience in the Front Office field, he will be a valuable team player at the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa. |

SARASWATI DAY (Appreciations Of Knowledge), 14 April 2007
The Balinese Hindus celebrate Saraswati day, the day to worship God in his manifestation as the master of all knowledge. Most of the students in Bali will be busy performing the ceremony at schools, colleges, in their houses and temples. Special offerings called canang Saraswati and some other are presented. They would not touch and read their books from morning until evening. Any activities that harm, burn and scratch books are considered as a betrayal of knowledge. You can be a witness of a religious ceremony called 'Piodalan Saraswati' or Saraswati Day.

Banyu Pinaruh day, 15 April 2007
Banyu Pinaruh is the continuation of Saraswati Day when all Balinese purifying them self with holy and aromatic water. Early in the morning Balinese go to holy water pound or to the beach that are believed as sources of holy water. On the entire island we smell nice aroma of cendana wood and incense sticks burnt together at the time Balinese go to temple to pray after blessing from Goddess Saraswati the day before for the knowledge and art that make our life more colorful.

Two days after Saraswati Day, Balinese bring offerings to the rice box. They thank God for their blessings of food and beverage in their lives and pray to Dewi Sri (Goddess of prosperity, manifestation of God) to give prosperity. The philosophy of Soma Ribek is for human beings to have food and drink.

PAGERWESI DAY, 18 April 2007
The Balinese Hindus will celebrate a very special day devoted to Hyang Pramesti Guru and Hyang Pitara (ancestors), which is meant to ask for protection and prosperity. It is celebrated at every family temple and holy place throughout Bali.
Pagerwesi day has a close relationship within Saraswati day. It falls 4 days after Saraswati day and there is continuous meaning in between. After people received knowledge on Saraswati day, they must remind that the knowledge is transferred through guru or teacher and Pagerwesi is the day to show our respect to the teacher and the main guru (God or Siva). |
