UPCOMING PIG’S YEAR CELEBRATION AT NIKKO BALI RESORT AND SPA

In commemoration of the Chinese New Year 2558, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa celebrated the Year of the Pig with buffet dinner at Graha Sawangan Ballroom on Monday, 19 th February 2007. In attendance, besides the Chinese, were Indonesians and other guests from other countries.

Guests were entertained first at the Lobby with the performance of Barong Sai dance which symbolized prosperity in future life. The lively dance show continued at the brightly decorated Ballroom and alternated by a musical entertainment from the Due Jazz who delighted the guests as they enjoyed their dinner comprising of exquisite flavors of specially concocted mainland Chinese delicacies.

The festivities culminated at around 11pm with exchanges of joyful and longevity wishes among the celebrants.

CHINESE NEW YEAR, 18 FEBRUARY 2007

Chinese New Year is well known as Imlek in Indoensia . This year the celebration is on 18 February. It is an incorporate customs, beliefs and practices brought to Indonesia by Chinese immigrants who still follow the practices handed down from their parents. Red color, gold coins or money, cherry blossom, home paper decorations are the object which represents good luck and fortune. All the bright happy colors are the distinctive of this festive that believe will bring a bright future. Exchange the gift during the holiday season also becomes the obligated thing. For entertainment, Chinese dragon dance is one of the popular shows that symbolized future life prosperity. “May you enjoy continuous good health' or 'May the Star of Wealth, Star of Longevity, and Star of Happiness shine upon you' are some wishes expressed among the celebrator.
