NIA RAMADANI – INDONESIA TV STAR VISITS NIKKO BALI RESORT & SPA

Nia Ramadani Young, beautiful, energetic and famous Indonesia TV Star visit Nikko Bali Resort & Spa on Saturday, 13 January 2007 in conjunction with Romantic Dream Date with nation-wide winner contest which held by a leading shampoo producer.

She did a romantic lunch in our Wiwaha Terrace, camel safari riding and playing beach volley ball with one of the winner.

This dreams date program were covered by two national televisions for later broadcast.

DEWA RUCIKA - NEW EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT MANAGER OF NIKKO BALI RESORT & SPA

Dewa Rucika Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dewa Rucika as the Executive Assistant Manager.

He obtained a degree in Hotel & Tourism Management from Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bali in 1994. Currently he is in process of finishing the Master Degree in Management at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (UNDIKNAS, Bali). He is married and is the proud father of two young boys.

Mr. Rucika has been with Nikko Bali Resort & Spa since 2001. His impressive background spans more than 16 years in the international hospitality arena. Previous positions include being the Front Office, Group Coordinator of Bali Intercontinental Resort and Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing of the legendary hotel; Bali Hilton International. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Rucika was the Director of Sales and Marketing at the same property.

With his expertise and extensive experience, he will be a valuable contribution to the Nikko Bali Resort & Spa.

NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION AT NIKKO BALI RESORT & SPA

New Year's Eve PartyNikko Bali Resort & Spa presented the “Stardust” gala dinner at Graha Sawangan Ballroom. Over 400 distinguished guests attended this magnificent New Year’s Eve ‘Futuristic’ Party.

The selected entertainers performed a colossal performance from Indonesia cultural dance, Asia to the Americas, passing by Europe. More than 100 dedicated singers, musicians and dancers overwhelmed the audience until late in the New Year’s morning. With great success, the team of Food and Beverage displayed there talent by proposing a variety of recipes originating from Chinese hockers, to Asian woks, BBQ grills and French pastry corners with home made cakes, pralines and flambé also a lavish buffet with air-flown seafood display on carved ice blocks, Indian Ocean lobsters, oysters and the freshest fish.

The Japanese Benkay Restaurant, the Chinese Tao-Li and the Brasserie venues showed as much creativity with traditional New Year’s Eve menu offering lavish and traditional dishes. Later in the evening, the Oo Loo Loos Entertainment Center gathered all guest for the New Year’s celebration under the theme of Black and Silver Party entertained by oriental dancers, fashion show and live band.

SIWA RATRI; The Day of The Forgiving, 17 January 2007

Siwa Ratri literally means ‘Siwa Nights’ is Balinese Hindu’s holy day to ask for forgiveness to the God (Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa). The holy day of Siwa Ratri is as well illustrated as redemption night to contemplate all the sins Balinese did.

The procession or activities proceeding and during the day will be as follows:

  1. Starting with a morning prayer, before or ends at 06.00 am.
  2. After the morning prayer, the following activities is conducted:
    Monabrata (brata of not talking/making conversation)
    Upawasa (brata of not eating and drinking or consume food of any kind)
    Mejagra (brata of not sleeping)
  3. Duration : Monabrata : 12 hours
    Upawasa : 24 hours
    Mejagra : 36 hours

ceremony is held at the end of any of the activities (brata) above. The Siwa Ratri celebration is mainly aimed to contemplate and beg for forgiveness to the God, and as well to endure any materialism and to be closer to god by surrender and prayer. Hindus expected to read as much as ‘Weda’ or holy bible literature during this day as well as meditate (yoga).



TUMPEK KRULUT, 13 January 2007

On this day, Balinese Hindu is make offerings to the musical instruments, masks, and dance costumes. The instruments and other paraphernalia are decorated with coconut leaf offerings, and holy water is sprinkled over them. Sometimes the members of the group that uses the instruments and the costumes and masks gather to pray and be blessed also. There is some variation to this practice. In some parts of Ball Tumpek Krulut is ignored.
