NIKKO BALI LAUNCHES WEDDING CHAPEL MASTERPIECE

Nusa Dua – Bali, October 2006… Nikko Bali Resort & Spa recently hosted an afternoon cocktail reception for travel agents, media partners and local wedding organizers to celebrate the launch of the WIWAHA Wedding Chapel and Shamita Reception Complex. Elevated over the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, WIWAHA is a stunning split-level glass structure that stands as a dedication to the spirit of love and commitment.

Invited guests gathered on the afternoon of the Balinese full moon for the official unveiling of WIWAHA, where Nikko Bali’s General Manager, Mr. Thierry Joho, together with Mr. Kiichi Ono, the Generalization Director of TUTU Wedding Organizer from Japan, cut the flower ribbon to the chapel that was shrouded by a white curtain. A stylish wedding demonstration was then staged with bridal party models performing a slow walk along the garden pathway. They were followed by a young boy bearing a ceremonial umbrella and a group of traditional Balinese flute players. The bridal procession was showered with fragrant flower petals as they made their way to the chapel that was decorated in exquisite floral arrangements where a priest awaited them. Enchanting violin music set the mood for the occasion.

EID-UL-FITR DAY, TUESDAY, 24 – WEDNESDAY, 25 OCTOBER 2006

The celebration of 'Eid-ul-Fitr this year is 24 and 25 October 2006. Eid-Ul-Fitr is the holiday that follows the blessed month of Ramadan and falls on the 1st day of Shawwal, the 10th month in the Hijra calendar. Muslims are encouraged to dress in their best clothes, new if possible and attend a special community prayer in the morning, and visit friends and relatives.

Eid-ul-Fitr in Indonesia called Hari Raya Idul Fitri or Lebaran.
Mass prayers are held in mosques and large open areas around the country. Celebrated with the traditional dish ketupat and visiting with family and friends. Charity donations (amal) are traditionally given at this time. Begging of forgiveness for any transgressions or slights in the past year is expressed during visits, Mohon Maaf Lahir dan Batin. In urban areas halal-bihalal (mutual begging of pardon) gatherings are held.

THE NIKKO BALI 10 TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT & BTA CHAMPIONSHIP

Nusa Dua – Bali, September 2006… The Nikko Bali 10 th Year Anniversary Open Tennis Tournament & BTA Championship has been scheduled to take place from 28 th October through until 5 th November 2006. This week long tennis tournament is open for adults and children in single and double match categories. All registered entrants will receive a special anniversary polo shirt and cap, and compete for a generous pool of cash prizes. The tournament will be structured in knock-out rounds to determine the best players on Bali’s local competition circuit.

The tournament will officially open with a courtside cocktail party on Saturday 28 th October 2006 from 6.00pm onwards for registered entrants and VIP exhibition players. Maintaining an ‘active’ theme for the evening, guests will be treated to a sports wear fashion show, bartending display, fire show and cheerleader dance performance.

During the week there will also be a tennis clinic for juniors to brush up their techniques and be coached by internationally experienced professional players. An exhibition match will take place on Saturday 4 th November 2006 to showcase the expertise of Indonesian Federation and Davis Cup players such as Lisa Andriani, Septi Menda, Hendri Pramono and Nesa Artha sponsored by Garuda Indonesia. Entrance to this exciting event is complimentary for spectators and it will certainly be a great day out for tennis enthusiasts. A selection of refreshments will be available from food and beverage kiosks in a designated area near the tennis grand stand.

A Gala Dinner held on Sunday 5 th November will mark the close of the tournament featuring a sumptuous international buffet and free flow beverages. Guests will be entertained by a live band and stylish fashion show prior to an awards presentation for all winners. The climax of the evening will be a lucky draw with an exclusive prize of 2 return airline tickets to Tokyo sponsored by JALHotels International inclusive of accommodation for 2 nights at Hotel Nikko Tokyo.
