Essentially most of the anniversary events have been created to benefit the Balinese community and respect the island’s culture and artistic heritage. The fishermen of Bali play an important role in supplying hotels and restaurants with fresh seafood on a daily basis. They are hard workers who brave unpredictable weather conditions to source the ocean’s bounty. This race has been organized as a show of appreciation for the local fishing community of Bali’s coastal waters.
