THE 2ND NIKKO BALI BEAUTY FAIR
A CELEBRATION FOR THE WOMEN OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Nusa Dua – Bali, May 2006… Nikko Bali Resort & Spa recently held the 2 nd Nikko Bali Beauty Fair (28 th – 30 th April 2006) in conjunction with a series of special events to celebrate the property’s 10 th anniversary.

Open to the public, the 3-day fair took place in the air-conditioned comfort of Nikko Bali’s Graha Sawangan Ballroom. The month of April was specifically chosen to host the fair to commemorate Kartini Day, which pays tribute to the emancipation and education of women throughout Indonesia. Therefore, the fair was particular interesting for women with a collection of retail stalls from leading cosmetic houses as well as fashion, accessories, jewellery, health care and lifestyle exhibits.

The highlight of the 2 nd Nikko Bali Beauty Fair was a series of ‘Talk Shows’ dedicated to women’s health issues by leading local doctors and specialists. Renowned sexologist, Dr. Wimpie Pangkahila presented a lively dialogue and slide show to an enthusiastic audience on ‘Sexual Harmony’, while other sessions covered important issues such as ‘Female Nutrition’ and ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’.

During the 3-day fair several fashion parades were staged to showcase the latest designs by Sogo Collections, Padilla, Beach House Creations and Klambi Kebayaku by Mama Leon. There was also a practical brief on ‘Make-up Trends’ that gave tips on cosmetic application and this season’s most popular colours.

On the closing day of the 2 nd Nikko Bali Beauty Fair the audience was invited to watch the Kartini Junior Competition. Girls from two categories between the ages of 5-12 years paraded in elegant combinations of the Indonesian national costume of sarong and kebaya before a judging panel to compete for some very attractive cash prizes.

The fair was Nikko Bali’s second event in a series of monthly activities organized to celebrate a decade of success. Scheduled events for the remainder of the year include a Golf Tournament, Cultural Show, Traditional Balinese Boat Competition and Grand Birthday Party.
