IJUMPI CULINARY CHALLENGE 2005

Nikko Bali Resort & Spa is proud to announce that its chefs won several medals during the recent IJUMPI Culinary Challenge 2005 held at the Central Parkir Kuta from 20-22 October with around 250 contestants from hotels and restaurants in Bali, Lombok and java. IJUMPI is the association of Indonesian Professionals Chefs.

The hotel’s kitchen team won nine medals in as many categories in which they competed – a gold in set menu display, six silvers from fruit carving, nasi tumpeng, live fish cooking, beef, ice carving and butter sculpture, and three bronzes from ice carving, live chicken cooking and sugar modeling.

COOKING CLASS AT NIKKO BALI RESORT & SPA

Nikko Bali Resort & Spa, a perfect place for dining experience and an ideal holiday destination in Bali has launched a new program, “Balinese Cooking Class with Traditional Seafood Market Exploration” at Jala-Jala Restaurant, every Thursday from 7.00 AM to lunchtime.

Class will start by all attendants’ departure from hotel lobby to the traditional seafood market at Jimbaran bay and followed by introduction of traditional Balinese herbs and spices at Jala-Jala Restaurant. Selection of Balinese dishes from appetizer to dessert and interesting condiments are demonstrated and explained to all class attendants.

Packages include coffee break, recipes folder and CD rom as well as Jala-Jala cooking apron and traditional Indonesian lunch. SECURITY MEASURE

Following the October 1 st bomb blasts in Jimbaran and Kuta, we have immediately increased the security throughout the hotel with the assistance of additional trained staff and two (2) more members of the police force. All vehicles coming to our hotel are stopped and thoroughly checked, including interior and trunk, by our security.
