Another turtle nest was found at the beach of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa
After the recent release of the 97 baby sea turtles in June, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa’s environment team discovered another nest at their beach on July 2, 2012.
The nest contains 80 eggs and is expected to hatch in late August or early September. “We have removed the eggs to higher ground away from the waves to ensure the maximum hatching ratio. Protective fences have been installed along the perimeter of the nest as well” explained Ketut Supartha, the Energy Conservation and Environment Manager of the resort.
Nikko Bali Resort and Spa is one of the resorts inBalithat care for the turtles in their natural habitat, letting Mother Nature take its course. Last year the resort discovered 8 nests and released more than 500 turtles. The effort is also one of the resort’s visions as an ECO HOTEL certified resort along with other environmental related activities such as the weekly beach cleaning and other community works.
