Paving The Way For The Future

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa gave scholarships to students at a local school as part of the company’s CSR

We are all responsible for teaching our future generations, the children, to be future leaders of the world. And such a thing can only be achieved with proper education and nurturing by parents, society and institutions such as schools and universities.

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa holds this to heart and has taken steps to ensure proper education is extended to the children, especially from the local community of Sawangan, Nusa Dua. For the past eight years, the resort has been supporting the local school, Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Benoa, with a scholarship program as well as donations in the form of school equipments and stationary. Each year, the school selects the top three students of each class to receive the scholarship from the resort. This year, 18 students were selected to receive them.

“This is just an initial step to our program to support the education at the local school. We are planning to involve our guests to be a guest teacher for specific subjects such as English” explained Made Erawathi, Human Resources Director of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa, “The resort also accepts training programs for those who seek to learn more about the hospitality industry, whenever there’s a vacancy for trainees, we will source out to schools around the area.”

Nikko Bali Resort and Spa will soon introduce new CSR activities involving these children and hotel guests, teaching what is not taught at the school such as table manners, basic cooking and other skills to create future generations of leaders, especially in the hospitality industry.
