Nikko Bali Resort and Spa is aware of the construction site located outside the boundaries of the resort, approximately 400 meters to the south.
Even though this construction is not in anyway linked to the resort, and it is completely beyond any control we may have over the matter, the management of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa are still extremely concerned by the welfare and enjoyment of their guests and are willing to take measures to ensure discomfort is kept to a minimum. To this end, should it be required, we will endeavor to allocate rooms in our north wing, to any guest who would request it. (subject to the type of room reserved and availability at the time).
The said construction is in its initial stage, where the noise pollution may be at it’s most noticeable, the first noise checks were conducted on 9 December 2011 by a certified agency in various parts of Nikko Bali Resort and Spa during daytime. We recently followed up with another noise check on 9 April 2012 and came up with the following results:
| Location | Noise Level |
| South Wing – Corridor | 58 – 68 dBA |
| South Wing – Guest Room | 41 – 44 dBA |
| Cliff Tower – 14th Floor | 63 – 64 dBA |
| Cliff Tower – 7th Floor | 61 – 62 dBA |
| Cliff Tower – 7th Floor Guest Room Corridor | 48 – 49 dBA |
| Cliff Tower – 7th Floor inside guest room | 40 – 41 dBA |
| Spa Villa | 48 – 49 dBA |
| North Wing Guest Room Corridor | 55 – 59 dBA |
| North Wing – Inside Guest Room | 39 – 40 dBA |
| North Wing – Guest Room Balcony | 59 – 60 dBA |
For information (and comparison), the “acceptable” noise level (as per Official decree of the Governor of Bali No. 8/2007) is 55 dBA for a housing area and 70 dBA for commercial (Mall) areas.
We have until today never experienced any noise before 8:00 and after 17:00.
We will continue conducting those tests at regular intervals and keep our readers posted.

We are planning our Honeymoon on September 2012. Will this construction still going on by then? Thanks
We do understand your concern but unfortunately we do not know what is the schedule of these constructions as they are not part of our resort. Rest assured that the disturbances at the moment is at a minimum and we will conduct another noise level check to ensure that our guests will have a comfortable stay with us. Should you wish to have more information on this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us at res@nikkobali.com or at pr@nikkobali.com
Hi, we stayed at the Nikko in December 2011, wonderful place, the ‘thump thump’ noise was annoying in parts of the resort no doubt. However we found near any water feature the noise couldnt be heard. Whether that was the ocean, running water of the pool system. More water features will drown out the noise Im sure. The sound of water running is beautiful, whether thats the ocean roaring on a low tide, or a simple water feature.
Good Luck
Dear Mr. Turner,
We are so sorry that you were disturbed by the sounds from the nearby projects, unfortunately these are not part of the resort so it’s out of our control. Hopefully you did have an enjoyable stay nevertheless. As for the water, we are having high tides lately so it does drown the sound a bit, perhaps it’s Mother Nature’s way of helping us to ensure our guests to have a comfortable stay with us.
Thank you for your feedback and hope to see you here at the Island of the Gods again soon
